Warington Baden-Powell Canoe Regatta

![]()
The Warington Baden-Powell Canoe Regatta is an annual event sponsored by Troop 23 of Strafford, NH and Troop 186 of Rochester, NH. Other Troops have an open invitation to attend. The Canoe Regatta is a fun weekend where the Scouts can expand on their canoe, tying and skills of ingenuity while partaking in some good natured competition. The event is named after Sir Robert Baden-Powell's older bother Warington who founded the Sea Scouts and Canoe Sailing. The highlight of the day is the regatta itself, where the boys take the canoes they have rigged for sailing, paddle them down wind and then sail them in a short race. The event is held on Long Pond and Ayers Lake at Camp Fireside in Barrington, NH.
